eCtune Dyno Tune Packages

Flat rate or Hourly Pricing Available

-325$ + one time 75$ software license (2WD)

Packages include dyno rental, tune labor, and 'ride along' on the street after the dyno to verify corrections, smoothness, drive ability, power management etc.

Retunes at a later date are discounted flat rate or hourly, with no license fee cost.

 

All tuning and power pulls are done on our 2010 2WD Mustang Load Dyno

During the tuning process, I use 1 to 2 professional tuning specific, lab grade widebands. One that is wired into my tuning ecu for eCtune's logger thats placed typically in the OEM 02 sensor location. At times, I also use another completely separate wideband setup thats the exact same brand and style, but wired into the dyno for its logging and graphing capabilities. Its typically placed in whats called a sniffer that goes in the end of the exhaust system. We also use this method to verify the accuracy of a customers wideband.

 

During the tuning process I use every tool at our disposal to make the absolute most of the setup. The proper tools and first hand experience creates smooth power that you can rely on day in and day out. I use real time dyno torque readings to find the most efficient and safe timing values (MBT) throughout the entire timing table, partial throttles all the way to the wide open throttle, full load areas. I also use a knock sensing device that the dyno graphs out with each pull. I set your base timing with a quality, adjustable digital timing light. This syncs the dizzy with the ecu and verifies the cam timing is correct. Towards the end of the tuning session I read plugs* with a otoscope, mainly for engine safety but also to see exactly what the engine likes and to sequentially balance the fuel and timing per cylinder.

 

*Its best to bring extra plugs for a lot of platforms, some its not needed (hard to access plug locations ex Subaru, or mild NA street cars). Higher whp and power adder cars its very important.

I can come to you for 1$ a mile. or you can bring it to my speed shop at no extra cost. Most cars are tuned same day.

1$/mile both ways in state, 1$/mile one way out of state, expenses must be paid out of state.

Tune brush-ups and Re-tunes

  • 100$ off our current tune amount. This discount is a 'returning customer' discount. Must be the same chassis/ecu. If you sell the car to a different owner, they will not receive this discount until they are a returning customer.
  • Tunes ideally are done seasonal, ex winter time/summer time
  • Tunes can be put on a in cabin switch
  • 2 tunes per chip when using a switch
  • We could do a tune that would last all year, but it would be excessively richer in the summer and power would be sacrificed.
  • Winter time tunes are more conservative due to the water content in the gas because of condensation build up in the gas station's tanks.
  • Not only is the air obviously colder in the winter time, its density is different in the winter time vs summer time. So per psi, you engine actually sees more air, so it needs more fuel to cope.
  • Its very easy to tell when a tune is out of season if you are utilizing a wideband air/fuel meter. I tell you what it should read under boost, full load or wide open throttle, if that changes out of an acceptable range, time to come back.
  • Once you get both seasonal tunes, as long as you don't change any major parts, you can run both of those tunes for the lifetime of the car.
  • 95% of the customers opt for seasonal tunes so they are always running in tip top shape.
  • We also offer newer Haltech standalone ecu's that can run on a year around tune. They have density corrections, and lots of other nice features that allows for butter smooth fueling year around on the same map. I run these ecu's on all of my personal race cars and highly recommend them to my customers. They are plug in play for a lot of supported platforms including the Honda's. OBD Conversions

These are also available for customers needing to convert their car to OBD1, example a lot of the 91 and older and 96+ Honda and Acura's. This allows them to use the tunable Civic and Integra OBD1 ecu's. .

91 and older = OBD0

92-95 = OBD1

96-99 = OBD2A

99-01 = OBD2B

  • Customer wideband is not required but is highly recommended and needed for some features. We use my widebands for the tuning process and are removed afterward. We can also help verify the accuracy of your personal wideband, running both in conjunction.

A Few Features Explained

Gear dependent boost allows me to dial a set amount of boost in every gear allowing you full traction while the car just gets faster and faster with every shift. You can also have a in cabin switch that you can switch to 5 new higher or lower boost settings at any time.

 

Switchable maps are built right in. You can go from a pump gas tune to a race gas tune with the flip of a switch.

 

Full throttle shift takes off on average 3 tenths off your quarter mile time and comes enabled ready to be hooked up. You no longer have to lift off the gas between shifts if you don't like, or you can drive it normal, lifting. eCtune will automatically drop back the rpm's during the shifts with whatever method you decide to use. If it is a turbocharged car, it can also use Anti lag between shifts.

 

Anti lag is another standard feature in eCtune, during launch control or between shifts, eCtune reduces timing and increases fuel causing the combustion to happen later forcing the turbo to spool almost instantly. I dial in how much to control the power of your launches and shifts.

 

Launch control is a standard feature that can be used with any eCtune car, we can dial in your rpm launch point at the track for perfect and consistent launches.

 

Overheat protection will save your engine if your car has an issue that would cause it to overheat. If the engine coolant temp rises above 219f, it will automatically place a ~750rpm rev limiter on the car to notify you to shut your engine off.
